OUR BORZOI WHAT'S NEW
HOME
Sorry, at this time I have nothing available.  My beautiful Int Ch Russian Import will be used spring of 2009 for a lovely breeding to a pretty young lass outside my typical lines. As spring approaches, more information will be available. I am tentavily planning 1 future breeding. One might be from SBISweeps CH Greyhaven This Rough Magic JC aka "Aidan" to AKC pointed Russian Ruby Moon or Russian Color of the Wind in late 2009. This litter will be bred by me.  I might breed from AKC pointed Greyhaven Eclipse of the Moon SC FCh ORC CGC in late 2009 or early 2010.  E may be bred to an outside girl.
I do not anticipate breeding for 1-2 years. Please feel free to make inquiries about upcoming litters sired by my Eclipse or Aidan or Sarov.
ECLIPSE
AIDAN
Aidan is now SBISweeps CH Greyhaven This Rough Magic JC
Sarov has a scissors bite and full dentition, tiny ears, almond shaped eyes, black pigment, excellent shoulder lay back and nice front, powerful yet effortless side movement and very clean coming and going and a correct tail length and carriage. Sarov's temperament is next to none being a very sweet, intelligent and affectionate soul!
SAROV
I only suscribe to the AKC Borzoi Standard & AKC rules & regulations. A win is a win even if there is no competition. A judge can always withhold awards if they choose or not cross over points. A title is a title. Just like a Dr is a title.  It has no bearing on quality.  There are good dogs with titles & good dogs without titles & bad dogs with titles just like there are good doctors & bad doctors. Just because a dog has a title does not make it correct or good. Showing is purely a sport that is a subjective interpretation of the standard. Not all judges are good judges or knowledgeable & neither are all breeders. Opinions are like assh*les, everyone has one. Not everyone is an honest breeder/exhibitor or an honest judge & there are improprieties surrounding some winning dogs & breeders.
I  breed on the average once every 2-3 years. I take the time to plan  breedings preferring quality over quantity. I have retired champions for companion homes & puppies & young adults available occasionally.  I will require a contract for both companion & show homes.  I raise my borzoi to be an integral part of the family, they do not do well tossed into a kennel run for the remainder of its life or living in some other out of the way area like a separate building or a basement. My borzoi are very social beings with a lot of feelings & love & need to be around people.  They enjoy watching tv & assisting in the kitchen with all culinery preparations as well as sleeping on the beds or couches or the lazy boy or on me! Due to a few irresponsible people that have either had my bloodlines or my Borzoi, (of which happens to many of us dog breeders) all prospective homes will be home checked for proper fencing & facilities in addition to being checked for animal abuse against the pet abuse database at http://www.pet-abuse.com/database to see if you have ever been convicted of animal abuse or any other animal related crime.  A letter of reference from your current veterinarian will be required.  Also, I will need to know about your zoning for your residence. In MY OPINION, because of a few either/or unscrupulous and/or unethical and/or irresponsible, and/or harrassing, threatening, slandering, libeling, stalking, blackmailing, obsessive compulsive people in this breed,  I require borzoi to be spayed or neutered before they go into companion homes & are only given limited status on the AKC papers. If a show home, (no spay or neuter) the borzoi will remain in co-ownership until such time the borzoi completes its title or other contractural arrangements. In my opinion, because of my personal dealings with some people over the years, they have formed how I write my contracts & place my dogs.  There are people in this breed that have spent alot of time discrediting & maligning other breeders, their dogs & their breeding program only to make a pathetic attempt at making themselves & their dogs look better. They are not fooling everyone with their continued lies, untruths & fabrications & their nauseating continuous brags about their dogs on several Borzoi lists. I guess every ass needs to hear itself bray. Whether a companion home or show prospect: IF a co-ownership on a show prospect, a contract, a check against the pet abuse database, a home inspection, veterinary reference and information on your zoning are not acceptable to you, then you need to look elsewhere for a borzoi.  I CARE ABOUT MY BORZOI & WILL TAKE EVERY PRECAUTION NECESSARY TO ENSURE THEIR WELFARE, SAFETY AND HAPPINESS. I am always willing to take back my borzoi in the event of some unforseen events.  There will be no tolerance for people who turn MY BORZOI over to a rescue organization/humane organization or threaten to turn them over to a rescue organization/humane organization. Violation of our agreement will result in us seeking any & all appropriate remedies provided under the terms of the agreement. I also keep in contact with all of owners of my borzoi for the entire life of the borzoi & are ALWAYS available to answer any & all questions. Over the years, I have acquired several borzoi & have been disappointed by several breeders or their agents & the misleading & misrepresentation of their Borzoi.  I have been sold borzoi pups that turned out to have wry mouths, bad bites, more than 4 missing teeth including premolars & molars, bad temperments, poor conformation, hereditary health problems, promises of health certificates that never were provided, no contracts, refusal of the breeders to replace the borzoi, refusal of the breeder to take the borzoi back, refusal to refund the money, threatened that the breeder would "put the dog down if I returned it", threatened that they would "ruin" my reputation (they tried anyway), & under innoculated borzoi. We have given up on several lines of borzoi based on the lack of quality in the specimans we have acquired.  That is NOT how we operate.  We dont want some one to keep our borzoi if they are not happy with it. If a fault or hereditary health problem arises, of course we will work out arrangements with the owner. Our contracts are NOT designed to "control" the owner of the borzoi or to "control" the borzoi.  They are written to protect the borzoi, we the breeders, the owner and the lines we have worked very hard at over the years. We strive to produce great specimans of the breed according to the American Kennel Club Borzoi Standard. It is rare that an entire litter is an ALL champion litter.  It is wonderful when that happens & it does.  However, since I prefer to place my borzoi in secure sound companion homes over show or performance homes, it is difficult for me to have "all champion litters". My litters are typically anywheres from 7-11 in a litter and most certainly I do not wish to keep them all.  I have full-time job and sometimes I just do not have the time to attend every event because something at work arises, or a family matter, even after I have already entered an event. I do make every effort to participate with my borzoi.  We also do not compete with our dogs if we feel it is not in the best interest of the borzoi, whether it be the weather, the dog is not quite up to it on that day, etc.
